Welcome to the homepage for the Alachua County Young Democrats! We are a group dedicated to the tenets of the Democratic Party: equality, fairness, and inclusion.
In a democracy, government is tasked with the responsibility of ensuring freedom for all. What citizens do with that freedom is up to them. We hope that you will join us in our efforts to promote the welfare of all citizens, regardless of income, gender, race, or sexual orientation. Together we can build upon the things that have made Alachua County a bastion of democracy and improve the way of life for all Floridians.
There is obviously a lot of work to be done. We are currently working hard to ensure that President Obama as well as other local, state, and national Democrats are elected in 2012 and to sustain a local network of young, progressive leaders!

The Alachua County Young Democrats have been working in Gainesville and throughout Alachua County to get Democrats elected, but we can't do it without your help. Your contribution will help Alachua County remain a progressive haven in north Florida. In the coming months, we'll be:
- Helping to organize the Lawton Chiles Gala
- Attending the Florida Democratic Party's Conference in Orlando
- Organizing a holiday celebration
- And working to preserve progressive control of the Gainesville City Commission
